One of the largest gatherings of Black artists and creatives in the Washington DC Metro Area is celebrating its five-year anniversary. Nubian Hueman Boutique Lounge hosts The Black Love Experience, an annual event that blends art, music, shopping, food, live entertainment and thought-provoking, interactive sessions. The Black Love Experience takes place on March 17th from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Nubian Hueman Boutique Lounge located at 1231 Good Hope Road S.E. inside the Anacostia Art Center.

This year’s theme Passport to Wakanda reflects the black excellence through sound, art, and commerce. Bringing together the best of DC’s creative community, attendees of The Black Love Experience will encounter diverse forms of creativity and expressions from the African diaspora, including:

-DJ Underdog (OkayAfrica and Afropunk) and DJ RBI

-Farafina Kan, traditional African drumming and dancing performing arts company

-Tabi Bonney, Togo born, DC-based rapper

-Aaron Abernathy, pianist, soul singer and multi-talented entertainer

-Sa-Roc, DC born, Atlanta based hip hop artist

-Jabari Exum, DC born, African percussionist and consultant on Marvel’s Black Panther movie
